Shooting Summer Photo's

During the summer, a majority of the population is outside enjoying the weather. Summer brings great skies, a lot of fun and many photo opportunities. Whether your taking pictures of the kids and what they are having fun doing or pictures of what you may be enjoying, there are some things to consider. Taking pictures in the summer can be tricky, as the sun can produce some pretty harsh lighting to deal with.

There are tips and tricks that you can learn and use to avoid loosing those precious pictures of your children or those once in a life time sunsets. Make sure you have read about your camera and understand the capabilities of it. A lot of the cameras out today can adjust the lighting for you, if they are set correctly. When taking photos outside of a person in certain backgrounds, you may want to use the fill in flash for the photo. This will help adjust the lighting in the camera, so that your object or face is not washed out by the intense natural lighting. This is as simple as changing the settings on the camera. You can also use things that you may have in your vehicle to deflect some light from the sun.

By using a mirror, you can prevent shadows from showing and causing the dark areas in the image. It could also deflect the light between the subject and the sun, but it all depends on where the deflecting device is held. There are many websites that have great ideas and tips on things you may have on hand that can be helpful in getting the photo just right.
